Q. How do I obtain a Fire Report? 

A. Fire Reports can be obtained at the following location: 

              City of Cleveland Fire Station 1 Headquarters

              555 South Ocoee Street

              Cleveland, Tn 37311

*Note: Only the property owner or tenant can receive copies of the fire report. All other inquiries such as news media or general public must get approval from the Fire Chief or City Manager.

Q. How do I obtain a burn permit?

A. The City of Cleveland prohibits open burning by ordinance and abides by all state burning laws. The city does not permit the burning of leaves, manufactured lumber (Demolition debris, building or construction materials), tires or rubber products, vinyl shingles and siding, plastics, asphalt roofing materials, paint or aerosol cans, copper or electrical wires, household trash, and/ or asbestos containing materials, is expressly prohibited.                                                                                                          

* Forced air burning or use of an air curtain destructor (incinerator) is considered incineration and is not considered open burning*

Q. Can I receive a free smoke alarm?

The City of Cleveland encourages all property owners to install and maintain workable smoke alarms

A. You may request a smoke alarm if you meet the following conditions:

  • You reside inside the corporate city limits of Cleveland and on the property for which you are requesting alarm(s).
  • You do not already have a working smoke alarm(s) or Hardwired alarm(s) in your home.
  • The home is not new construction

*Your free smoke alarm(s) will be installed by appointment only* 

**CFD Fire Marshal’s Inspector will arrive at your residence in uniform and will be in a marked fire department vehicle*
