I'm not talking (cans), I'm saying Paper, plastic, glass etc. The CDB wants you to subscribe to the paper, but only takes their paper back, Why couldn't Walmart have the bins behind the store and Soild Waste pick it up? Some of us care about the land fields and our generation ahead. Why not during the school Yr. have bins placed at the schools to teach recycling? I've called and stopped by recycling places and the biggest answer is it is not profitable. But in the long run it is, and its just the right thing to do! I've seen separated bins in small town tunnel hill Ga. that has taken a empty area and placed the bins, now that corner stays clean. In some medium size towns they have home tubs that you separate your recycle and SWA picks up. Come on Cleveland lets recycle and push for more drop off locations! Its just the right thing to do!!

Recently relocated back to my hometown of Cleveland and want to get involved. However, most of the posts I've been reading are from 2+ years ago. It seems like either no one was receiving a timely response to their ideas/complaints, or the page admins weren't actively involved either.
I think this is a great forum for the residents of Cleveland to take action and assist each other and their City with improvement suggestions and information. With proper execution, this could be an even greater endeavor.

Let's start using the plows on the front of our plow trucks when it snows. Dropping rock salt is only half the battle. Not using the equipment available is ridiculous at best. If the director of public works or who ever is in charge of clearing the roads after a storm is afraid to use the plows lets hire a yankee to handle the job. To many years have gone by with the same story; it snows and the roads stay in state of non
use because they refuse to clear with the plow.
The director told me last year, after our road was not plowed for 4 days, that the equipment could not handle the ice possibly under the snow. Really? I personally had to go and shovel our city street so my neighbors and I could exit our subdivision. My snow shovel didn't break either!

I am a disabled citizen of Cleveland. My husband and I have been looking for a better place to live. The problem I have been running against is... The landlords here do NOT know the rules or laws of the American Disability Act, concerning service animals and objects that if they are required that they are ALLOWED and that the person applying for a place CANNOT be refused a place due to either objects or service animals. Service Animals are NOT pets they are working animals. They maybe helping therapeutically, for medical reasons, and other reasons. My suggestion is to have a manditory class for ALL landlords of the rules/laws of the ADA.
